A young couple in Hyllie wanted a kitchen that could carry everyday life and still feel like somewhere to linger. A full renovation of 35 square metres where I started with redrawing the floor plan, with a new concept, new cabinetry and a dining area with a built-in banquette. My role: concept, new floor plan, cabinetry and dining-area design, plan and construction drawings, 3D visualisation, procurement of furniture, appliances and interior details, and project management.
The concept rests on quiet contrast. Sage-green custom cabinetry against glossy oxblood tile, terrazzo across both worktop and floor, and cool details in brushed steel.
Every door, plinth and shelf was drawn for the room and built on site. Nothing pulled from a catalogue.
Next to the kitchen I built a banquette in mustard velvet, set around a round walnut table. A place for morning coffee in low light and for dinners that run long.
The palette reflects warmth from the Mediterranean, held together by Scandinavian restraint in line and proportion.
